Charlene wandered around the library, picking up a book now and then, flipping through the pages and replacing it if it was not what she needed.
Actually, she had no idea what she needed. She had told herself she should come here to study so she could refresh her memory but she had no idea what she was studying for. It was not at all like this at her old school. At her old school she knew what she was doing, where she was going and how she was to get there but here she had no clue whatsoever.
Maybe there is someone here that can help me? She thought.

Ashley was sorting and putting away books when he saw a girl who looked a little lost. He walked over to her and smiled kindly. "Are you right there?"

"Yes... uh no. I'm not. I have no idea what i'm doing or even what section i'm in. " Charlene noticed that her book was back to front. "Hey, look at that, my book's even backwards." She sighed.
"Uh, where are the books on Herbology?"

Ashley smiled polietly, clutched hands together and walked a few isles down from where they were. There were so many books in the library you wouldn't think anybody would know where every book was, but Ashley knew. Books were his life, his only true friends.
"Ok Herbology. Now it's definitley down here. Do you have the title of the book you are looking for?" He asked casually.

"Yes, i wrote it down." Charlene reached into her pockets, rummaging around for the piece of paper. It wasn't there. What was happening? Was she turning into some disorganised, clutzy, unbearable trouble maker like her sister? No, thqat couldn't happen, she wouldn't let it. She bega to panic anyway.
"It was here! I swear! Someone must have stolen it or something..." Charlene stopped herself as she realised how stupid she had just sounded. At her old school the teachers respected her and knew they could always count on her and trusted her... looks like that wouldn't happen here.
"No, i don't know. I did know but i lost the paper thats says i know... well it didn't say i know but it says what i did know..." Charlene faltered to a stop. Maybe it would be better if she just closed her mouth altogether. School clutz... that didn't sound so bad...

"OK, OK calm down it's not the end of the world. I'm sure you just misplaced it or forgot to pick it up. I'm sure we will find the book you are looking for. Is this book for study or just for your pleasurable reading?" He asked calmly.
While the girl was thinking Ashley heard some people being too rowdy. Furious he walked up the isle a bit a stuck his head around the corner. He gave the students the look he always gave people when they made too much noise. They quitened down quite a lot.
Hmm. That look must be pretty leathal. He thought proudly, smiling slightly.
He turned back and walked over to the girl and waited for her answer.

"Both." Charlene said. She began looking at the books all lined up neatly on the shelf.
"I need something to refresh my memory from last year and something i can use to study."

"Ok then. May I suggest 1000 Magical Herbs and Fungi or Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean. Both are very good reads and informative. Or, there are many Encyclopedias on plants that are fantastic and full of information on plants and, Herbology in general." Ashley said brightly.
He really wanted to help this student out. She seemed like a lovely girl and he didn't want her to feel down about herself.

Brendan was in the library trying to find books on Chasers or Qudditch in general. He was looking so hard to find the teacher but just couldn't find him anywhere. He had looked down all the isles except for the Herbology one. He didn't think of it. Herbology was one of the subjects that Brendan didn't bother with but he did it anyway. He sat down in one of the armchairs to rest his newly blistered feet when the thought came to him.
I'll just make plenty of noise and the teacher will find me. He's bound to - he always kicks me out for making too much noise or not treating the book with enough respect.
"So how is everyone. I hope they are all good. I know i am definitely very well!" He said very loudly, to nobody in particular.
He went one untill his voice was sore. A group of girls were surrounding him and laughing, but also admiring. Brendan rolled his eyes and looked around trying to find the teacher. Finally, the teacher poked his head around the corner and gave him his famous look. Brendan was always getting this. He quickly jumped out of his seat and ran to the Herbology isle.
Of course - Herbology. I forgot about that one. He thought as he was running.
As he got to the isle he stopped and looked down it. There was the Marshall with another Gryffindor girl. Brendan had seen her but never had talked to her. He walked down and gave a cheeky smile to the girl.
"I need to know where all the Qudditch books are. You know the ones about Chasers." He said.

Ashley sighed. It was the boy who he just gave the look to. Ashley was always telling him off. He never did treat the books with much respect and he was always really rowdy. Never following the rules, mischief maker.
"You will wait your turn Brendan. Young miss was here before." He said, nudging his head towards the girl.
Ashley knew the boys name. He couldn't forget it. He gave the girl the two books, One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi and Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean.
"There you go," He said kindly passing the books to her, "Now what do you want Mr Makintyre?"

"Oh nothing Sir. I have already found what I was looking for thanks." Brendan said, giving the girl opposite him a wink.
He pretended to look through the Herbology books, which he hated, to distract the teacher and to look as though he was doing something.

Tess rolled her eyes, when she saw the boy wink at the girl. What a flirt. She was carefully hidden behind a column of dusty old books, but she had a wonderful view of everything before her. Luckily for her the librarian hadn't come up to her yet. Looking closely at the spine of a black book with golden words etched onto it; the words shimmered slightly when the sun settled on them. The book was titled Quidditch through the Ages.
"Wrong row." she said softly and continued further down the aisle. Tess trailed her hand across the book's covers and wasn't paying attention to the layout before her. Suddenly she ran into something hard and tripped over a stack of books. The books fell to the ground along with her, all making a couple of loud thuds. Tess covered her eyes with her hands. "Bloody..."

Charlene rolled her eyes at Brendan Mcintyre. She knew him from around. Mainly because he was the talk of the girls bathrooms. Even though he was really goodlooking, it didn't mean he wasn't a complete jerk! She grabbed the books.
"Thanks sir!" She spun around and started to walk down the aisle when there was a huge thump. She looked down another aisle. A huge pile of books on the floor. She raised her eyebrows.
Her mother said that first impressions are lasting impressions. So far this school wasn't giving very good "lasting impressions." Charlene turned around and went to check out her books.

Brendan's mouth dropped when he saw the girl walk away from him. Nobody had done this to him before. This was a whole new experience for him and he didn't like it at all.
Maybe I was a jerk. Man.......I'm always being a jerk lately.
He ran after the girl and met up with her at the desk.
"Hey. I'm sorry I - I didn't mean to offend you like that."
