Chelsea was sitting on a large, thick tree log by the edge of the lake. Next to her lay many long, flat rocks of all different colours. Plop, Plop, Plop went the rocks on the water as she skipped them. Chelsea was quite a good rock skipper. He brothers taught he when she was young and has had a lot of practice ever since. Every throw the rocks would jump about ten times. The day was cloudy and cold and the air was misty. Everytime you breathed out there would be a cloud of thick mist infront of you. Chelsea wished she had someone to talk to. "Maybe," She thought "I could teach people how to skip?"

Tim wandered about the grounds searching for som-one to talk to. He came to the lake, there was a girl by herself sitting on a log. She was skipping stones.
He picked up a stone off the ground, it was rough and bumpy. He attempted to skip it but it just sunk to the bottom with a PLONK.
Tim sighed loudly and picked up another one, it to sunk to the bottom...

Chelsea turned and watched the boy try and skip his rocks. Obviously he wasn't having much luck and thought she would go over and help him. When she walked over she smiled at the boy.
"Hey, do you need some help? I saw you trying to skip the rocks but you wern't having much luck." She said kindly.

Tim looked up at the girl. He nodded sheepishly. "If you dont mind?" he asked.

Chelsea smiled. "Ok, for starters you have the wrong kind of rock." She said, pointing at the rocks the boy had. She looked down and picked up an long, flat rock. "You need these types. See they're long and flat." She said, gesturing the rock in her hand.

Tim felt extremly embarrassed, a younger student was teaching him how to skip rocks, this is humiliating.
"Right." He said awkwardly. He picked up a long, flat rock. "Got it so far." He smiled sheepishly.

"Ok, now curl your index finger around the rock and sit your thumb ontop like this." Chelsea said, demonstrating.

Tim was never good with girls or talking to stangers, but as the rockskipping lesson continued he seemed relaxed, like he had known this girl for years. She was very kind in helping him to skip rocks.
"I'm Tim, I feel really bad for not introducing myself sooner." He smiled at her and placed his fingers on the rock like she had told him then he threw the rock very spectacularly it jumped 6 skips.

A smile brushed across Chelsea's face when she saw Tim skip the rock six times. "Excellent! And there's no need to feel bad, I'm Chelsea." She said kindly.

Tim breathed a sigh of relief. "Nice name, it suits you." He smiled. If this was going the way Tim thought it was going maybe, soon Tim would have a friend. "What were you doing out here skipping rocks anyway? Shouldn't you be hanging with your friends doing what ever it is that girls do?"

Chelsea smiled widely but that came to a stop when Tim mentioned the other girls. After a while of skipping rocks Chelsea finally worked up the courage to say " I'm not like the other girls. They all like gossiping and talking about what boy they are going to stalk next and me I just like to enjoy life for, what it is." She looked at Tim and gave him a small smile.

"Thats a good outlook on life. Are you in 5th year?" He asked her, her thought she might be in either 5th or 6th years.

"Sure am." Chelsea affably.
She bent down to pick up a rock. After choosing the right kind, she held it in the right position and skipped it. The rock bounced six times before hitting the sandy bottom of the Black Lake.
"So your in the sixth I s'pose. I saw you down on the Quidditch pitch after class one day. Your the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain aren't you?" She asked gently.

His eyes followed the stone she had just thrown. It skipped several times then sank to the bottom. "Yer I am," He said proudly, "I love quidditch, HUGE fan."
I dont want to have another conversation about quidditch, there is many more things in the world to talk about besides it. He thought to himself.
He tried to think of an intelligent topic starter, "What part of the Uk are you from?" He asked her. Nice one, a good solid topis, quidditch cannot emerge from this.

Chelsea laughed a little and stroked her hand through her extremly long, very, curly brown hair. She pulled out her wand and pointed it at the top of her head and muttered a few words. Her hair immediatly went in to a pony tail.
"I'm from Ireland. Dublin you see. Can't you hear my accent?" She asked puzzled.
It was getting colder as the day went on and it was just after lunch the hottest part of the day. Chelsea buttoned up her cloak and put her hands in her pockets. To tell the truth Chelsea rather liked the company of boys. This was probably because she was with her older brothers around the clock when she was younger.
