Full Name: Tabitha Diane Lawson
Blood Type: Muggleborn
Age: 15
Year: 4th
DOB: November 23, 1991
Preferred Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Appearance:
Tabitha isn't exactly tall for a fifteen-year-old, but she isn't short, either. Her hair is stick-straight and dark brown, so dark that it is often mistaken for black, and it falls halfway down her back. Tabitha's pale face is set with two vividly green eyes that glint like emeralds; a thin, Irish nose; and soft pink lips that are almost always curved into a smile. There are five scars, all from the same dog bite, on her left hand, and a single slash-mark from a mis-aimed Severing Charm on her right shoulder. The severed tendon in her hand never healed quite right, and at times the old injury will flare up again; when it does, she loses all mobility in her left thumb.
Personal History:
Tabitha Diane is the only child of James and Terra Lawson, the former being a pharmacist and latter, a social worker. Neither had any hint of magical blood in their ancestry, so it came as quite a shock when they learned that their daughter was a witch. Until she received the letter, Tabitha had been the typical Muggle child -- making friends, attending primary school, and longing to be just like her mother when she grew up. Then, just over two months before her twelfth birthday, she received a letter from a school called Hogwarts, where, it was said, she would be trained to be a witch.
At first, Tabitha and her parents were shocked, and rightly so; none had earlier believed that magic existed, outside of fairy tales. Then, as Tabitha's parents looked back over the years, they realized that there had been signs of it, after all: the pet lizard that she had kept hidden for so long when she was five, which had seemed to disappear mysteriously whenever James or Terra had come close to it; the light fixture that had fallen on the dining room table when Tabitha didn't want to eat broccoli; and, most especially, the strange case of why the dog that had bitten her on the hand had afterward completely lost its eyesight for two weeks.
Though James still harbored reservations about this magical world that they had suddenly been thrust into, both of Tabitha's parents were very supportive of their daughter. They took her to Diagon Alley to buy her things, even paying extra for a young female barn owl so that she could send them letters from school. Terra was especially interested in Tabitha's magical education, and posed many questions in letters during her daughter's first few weeks at school.
Personality:
Tabitha possesses a very vibrant spirit, full of drive and determination. If she sets her mind to something, you can bet your life that she will achieve it, and then some. She is a strong and compassionate soul, her love of adventure and most especially of laughter always settling down at the right time for her to comfort a friend in need. Exceptionally brave and endlessly loyal, she will take on any task and try any plan for the betterment of a friend or just to satiate her own desire for adventure. At times, these traits, in combination with a quick and fiery temper, will get her in over her head and cause undue grief. Tabitha is outgoing and curious to the point of being nosy on many an occasion. Though she loves to learn about magic and everything about it, she prefers to be on a broom and high in the sky or in a corner, laughing with her close friends.
