As soon as Tim left Brendan did too. He knew what Tim was doing and Tim had woken him up. Even though the night was still young, he had made the biggest jerk out of himself he could of done through the whole night in a mere half and hour. What was he doing? He must of looked like a complete idiot. He got up and left the giggling girls with not a second to loose. He heard them sighing to each other but he didn't care. Brendan like flirting with girls, it was part of his nature, but tonight was a little over the top even for Brendan.
He rushed out of the Great Hall thinking how much of a complete fool he looked like. What was getting into him lately? He was acting like some girl crazed idiot.
What the heck am I doing? I must look like a complete male slurry. He thought passing the big oak doors of the Great Hall.
He looked around and saw a few people out in the Entrance Hall. He turned and looked at the oak doors of the Entrance Hall. He walked over and opened them with great force. The door flew open and banged against the stone wall of the castle making a lot of noise. He walked a little and decided to sit himself outside on the crooked bridge feeling very reluctant.
He undid his collar, ruffled up his hair, closed his eyes, sunked his hand into his knees and hoped this was a dream.

"Aren't you a bit cold?" Tess was wearing a black coat and a matching black scarf with silvery specks in it. She was enjoying the peacefulness of the night so far. The need to get out of the suffocating castle was to great to ignore and she was out walking around the snow covered grounds. Snow was gently falling down from the sky above.
She really wanted to twirl around it, but she wouldn't allow herself to show emotion. Not yet anyway.

Brendan looked up and saw a girl standing near him.
"Er - No, not really. Why aren't you at the ball?" He asked.
Brendan thought it was odd that someone wasn't at the ball like himself. Everybody was at the ball and for girls, balls were their specialty, weren't they?

"Well, I wasn't asked and didn't feel like sitting around the whole entire night. Besides I just wanted to be alone. And why did you leave the ball? I'm sure almost any girl would dance with you." Tess shrugged, she hardly ever talked this much to someone she didn't know. Then again times were changing.

Brendan sighed.
"I left the ball because - because I'm an idiot, that's why I left........Why didn't anyone ask you? You look fine." He muffled.
He wasn't really in the mood to talk so he just stuck with the small sentances. Brendan didn't feel that he could get a date at this moment.

((sorry if I haven't replied in awhile. been sick.))
Tess held back a laugh. She looked fine? If only he knew. "I have know idea...it doesn't really matter." She plopped down on the snow and looked at the ground. She tucked a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear and then looked up at the moon. It was really beautiful tonight.

"Right." He said, a bit confused.
Brendan didn't understand why she didn't want to go to the ball. Basically every girl was there. "If I were a girl I would be really excited and dancing with everyone." He thought quietly.
"Aren't you a good dancer." He asked curiously.
It was probably obvious to her that Brendan didn't have a clue why she wasn't at the ball.

"I think I am. Are you a good dancer?" She looked over at him for a brief second and saw a big black spot from looking at the moon for too long. There was hint of amusement in her eyes but in a flash it was gone. She hated places that were loud and crowded and it was one of the reasons that she didn't go to the ball.

"I'm not sure really. Never really have danced properly." He said and then added "I'm probably awful."
Brendan like it our here better at the moment. He couldn't really handle crowds right now. He felt left alone being the only one on the bridge so he picked himself up and sat in the snow, even though he came out here to be alone int he first place.

Tess watched him sit down on the snow and thought it kind of strange. The bridge wouldn't be as wet as the ground. "I don't think there is a proper way to dance. Unless your doing one of the waltzes or whatever."
Tess trailed her hand along the snow watching the lines that she made. She should really continue her walk, but right now she was content just to sit.

"Hmmm. I still think I would be awful either way." He said doubtfully.
Brendan felt the chill of the snow crawl up his back very slowly, but he didn't mind. He remembered he hadn't even told her his name yet.
"I'm Brendan by the way." He smiled.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Tess." She stood up, her pants were becoming too wet. Tess walked over to the bridge and leaned against it, making sure that she would still be able to see Brendan. She bit her lower lip in contemplation, wondering why no one did ask her to the ball. Tess shrugged unconsciously. Oh well, you don't like noises remember. Or is it because you wouldn't be able to see anything to the left of you...
"I stopped dancing along time ago." Tess said more to herself then to Brendan.

"The same goes with you." He said gladly.
Brendan started to make a large pile of snow. The snow kept falling slightly. He was starting to get covered in off white, really small, frozen water as everyone calls snow. Soon it looked like he had a bad case of dandruff mixed in with his messy, mousy brown hair.
He heard Tess say something but didn't quite catch it.
"You gave up what?"
