And you thought libraries were for studying?

Lena stood infornt of the Restricted Section door. She’d always wondered what was in there. Of course, she knew there was books, but she wondered what made them ‘restricted’. As a first year, she had foolishly snuck into the library at night. Of course, being a silly little girl, she’d been caught and had regretted it when she ended up scrubbing trophies in detention.

She had come to the library to actually try and study, which hadn’t kept her attention at all. Lena was awful at preparing for tests and doing assignments. She didn’t see why she would waste her time with such stupid things when she could be doing more important things. Yeah, like standing around in the library? Lena thought to herself, smiling a little.

Lena didn’t realize she was staring, unblinking at the door, lost in her thoughts. She rarely let her gaurd down, but this was a rare ocassion. Maybe the boredom and stiffness of the library was driving her mad?

A whisper made it's way through the library, rumours about the New Years Ball. Tim had admitted he had made a mistake and he had apologised to Lena. Even though they didn't completly sort it out, he felt better inside that he had made an effort to say sorry to her.

The sixteen-year-old made his way through the high shelves laden with dust and ancient books. He looked his messy self, hair untamable and robes crinkled. He reached the end of the row, he turned and picked up the closest book which happened to be Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He flicked threw it lazily making his way down a few more rows of books. He put the book down next to where he happened to find himself at this moment, at the foot of the restricted secton.

Tim had never been inside the secton, although he would like to know what was so bad that the school would keep them locked up.

He turned his head and saw Lena. This may have been the last person he wanted to see with the rumors flying around and everyone asking him about his date with the Slytherin Captain. He had just shunt the questioners away.

Tim approached Lena cautiously. "Umm, hi." He said whispering, with a slight smile. "What ya up to gazing into the restricted section?"

Maybe she had been wondering the same thing Tim had been before, what was in those books?

Lena almost screamed as that oh-so-familliar voice disrupted her, uh, staring. She turned around and frowned. Lena had wondered how Tim had been after the New Years Ball. Of course, she avoided any controversy by saying she had only gone out with him to find out the Gryffindor team’s secrets and that if anyone asked her again she’d hit them over the head with a broom. Lena knew that a Gryffindor would be too nice too threaten anyone like that, but no one had mentioned it since.

How does he always find me? Lena thought sourly. Of all people. She had still not forgiven him, even though she had kind of told him she had. Lena held grudges for so long sometimes she didn’t remember why she was even mad. But, oh no, she sure still remembered the Ball. She made a mental note to write about that in her diary so she wouldn’t forget.

“Oh,” Lena said, as if she hadn’t noticed him. “Just thinking of all the times I’ve snuck into this place.” She said sarcastically. It was common knowledge that Lena wouldn’t risk ruining her family’s ‘reputation’ all for some silly books... or whatever was in the restricted section.

Some how Tim knew that Lena wouldn't really want to talk to him, after how he behaved. He was expecting much worse, but this was good. At least they were talking.

"Riiiight," He said hearing the sarcasim in her voice. This was not going to be the most lively of conversations. Lena still hated Tim for what he did even though he sad sorry. But then again, in the female mind 'Sorry' just wasn't enough.

"Like I said the other day, I am sorry for being a total a** at the ball." He said looking down the aisle of the roped off section. Tim had a feeling down in his gut that she probably would hold that night againt him for the rest of his life, but he only try to change her mind about him.

Lena turned around and gave him a glare.
“Why must you say that here?” Lena moaned. “Everyone thinks the only reason I went with you is because of, I don’t know, Quidditch or something.” Lena looked around, realizing she had forgot to lower her voice and that someone could’ve heard her.

Although she had silenced her Slytherin peers, the last thing she needed was those annoying Hufflepuffs to be eavesdropping on her. Lena loved attention, but not when it was something so personal.

A thought suddenly popped into Lena’s head. She felt an infamous Slytherin smirk creep across her face.
“You really want me to forgive you?” She asked, still smirking. “Well, you Gryffindors think you’re such a brave lot, don’t you? I doubt you’ve ever been in here.” She nodded her head towards the Restricted Section door.

“How about a little wager? Just for fun between us friends.” Lena said, her eyes gleaming.

Great, Tim thought. she was angry at him yet again. Was there nothing he could do right.

"I can tell you now that I have been in there loads of times." He lied. He hadn't actually needed nor wanted to go into the restricted section until now. He wasn't afriad of breaking the rules - he had had his fair share of detentions in his time - and this would the perfect time to show Lena what a true Gryffindor was like.

"Ok then." He relpied bodly. "Just between us friends." There was no way that Tim and Lena would be friends, not after what had gone on between them so far, it was like they were destined to be enemies.

“Okay, then.” Lena said, her voice barely a whisper. “How about... tonight? Due to your experience with breaking into this place, it should be no problem for you to meet me here at midnight without being caught, hmm?” I’d like to see him try. She thought nastily. Lena could use a little rule-breaking to relax from all the stress lately.

“So, what do you say? Midnight?” Lena asked, her eyebrows raised.

Midnight sweet, he thought.

"Sure, midnight, out the front of the library." He said smugly, this would be a sinch, even though he had never broken into the restricted section before and he had no idea how he would do it tonight. "I'll see you then." He turned to leave but then the thought struck him, what was Lena plotting? She was the last person Tim would have thought would invite him to break into the library at midnight. She ws up to something and Tim didn't like it. "Wait." He said turning around. "Lets make this clear, there better not be any ... funny business, tonight okay?" He said sternly.

“Funny business?” Lena asked, her eyebrows furrowing. “Like I said, it’s all just good fun. Of course I doubt you Gryffindors know what real fun is.” And with those words, she picked up her bag and procceeded out of the library, a million different thoughts and ideas running through her mind. This is going to be good. She thought smugly.
