Kilbravio came into the room muttering to himself. He was very concious about this lesson, it was going to be the first transfiguration lesson of the year. He had planned just something easy for the students to do, just as a reminder of what they have been doing over the years.
Oh I do hope they are nice childern and dont give me any hassels. He muttered to himself. He sat behind the front desk with a look of worry on his face. He waited for the first student to arrive.

Eugene walked into the classroom loudly. He saw the teacher at the front of the room and yelled a hello to him. Seeing that he was the first to arrive he took a seat in the middle of the room.

Jacen was surprised to see that he wasn't the first one to class, as he was very punctual and always early to everything. He sat down at a table towards the middle of the room, nodding to the professor and his fellow Ravenclaw on his way to the table. Once he sat down, he pulled out his book, parchment, quill and wand and laid them all out neatly in front of himself. He was very excited for transfiguration; it was his favorite subject.

Charlene walked into her Transfiguration class on time. She saw there were two other students there already and was slightly relieved. She sat by herself towards the front and got out her things and waited queitly for the lesson to begin.

Lena walked into the classroom, surprised that she was early. She didn’t bother to keep track of time and sometimes ended up late. As she sat down near the back, she gave a glance to the Ravenclaw boy she recognised. Pulling out her notebook, she began to work on Quidditch strategies while waiting for class to begin.

Tim walked boldly into the classroom, he had had this teacher many times before. Tim knew this teacher was not the, boldest, of teachers and he also knew that he feared almost everthing known to wizard.
Tim didn't bother greeting the teacher as a younger student had done as he knew it would only make Kilbravio more nervous.
Tim took a seat next to Charlene. "Hey" He said in a whisper to her.

"Hey," a voice said.
Charlene looked up from some notes she had taken at her old school. She saw Tim sitting there and she smiled. She really liked Tim, he was so friendly and nice.
"Hey!" She whispered, she gestured towards the teacher. "Whats with the teacher? I went up to him before and he jump a few metres." She smiled softly

When the students were arriving Kilbravio flinched alot. Especially when Eugene entered.
"Shhh!" Kilbravio whispered loudly with his finger to his mouth. "Quiet down." He was very twicthy today.
"Ok then, t-t-today we will be transfiguring a b-b-beetle to a b-b-button." He had a fear of insects so Kilbravio stayed on the safe side of his desk, away from the students. He flicked his battered wand and several beetle appeared on the students desks. "Just wave your wand over the beetles and say in incantation." he told the students the spell, "a it sh-sh-should trun into a button. Please practise this several times."
Kilbravio then sat in his chair and sunk very low as if he was trying to hide under the table, but was stuck.

Autumn walked cautiously into the room and quickly sat down in an available seat. She hoped she wouldn't gain a detention from her tardiness. She got out her parchment and ink and began searching her bag for her quill, she felt like everyone was watching her as she came in late, she tried to have a smile on her face but she was really worried.

Tabitha Lawson listened intently as Professor Kilbravio gave them their instructions and, with a flick of his wand, caused beetles to appear on each of their desks. The fifteen-year-old Gryffindor had slipped in, unnoticed, just before the bell rang, and taken a seat in the next to last row. Now her vivid green eyes were contemplating the beetles with an avid curiosity, even as one tried to crawl up her sleeve. Tabitha grinned and picked it up by the midsection, where its pincers couldn't reach her fingers, and held it to her ear for a moment. She could barely resist the urge to laugh when she heard its fervent hissing, as the little creature struggled to escape her grasp. This was something that her grandfather, Gene Autry, had taught her when she had gone to visit her mother's parents at their country home.
Replacing the beetle on the desk, Tabitha tapped her wand experimentally on the insect's hard exoskeleton as she wondered whether the beetle's tiny consciousness even registered what was about to happen to it. On the one hand, the beetle would never have to experience death and decay, but, on the other, it would not be able to enjoy life as it previously had. Tabitha chose to view it as helping a tiny creature to attain near-immortality, and murmured the incantation that the professor had given the class before tapping the creature with her wand. The beetle stiffened and its black coat gleamed unnaturally bright; it seemed to curl into a circle and its eyes turned white as they came toward the center. A moment later, the white eyes were holes for thread which showed Tabitha's palm underneath the fine black coat button that she had made. With a triumphant smile, the fourth year began on the other beetles that had been sent to her desk, the buttons becoming more brightly polished and perfectly round as she went on.
